pre-class Checklist

To ensure a successful term beginning, review all sections of the orientation and complete the following checklist. It may be helpful to print and keep for future reference. Refer to the term schedule to determine the start and end date of your course. 

c USING TUITION ASSISTANCE OR VA BENEFITS? Military personnel should refer to: http://www.cel.cmich.edu/military/tuition-discount.html for complete information. Non-military, please refer to: http://www.cel.cmich.edu/finances/payments.html for voucher information.

c ORDER COURSE MATERIALS. The Missouri BookStore website is: http://direct.mbsbooks.com/cmu.htm  It is the student’s responsibility to order course materials. (Not ordering course materials and/or failure to do coursework does not constitute a withdrawal from the course.)

c IDENTIFY A PROCTOR. For courses requiring proctored examinations (refer to the syllabus to determine if needed), identify a proctor as soon as possible. More information and the online form to designate a proctor is available at: http://ddlcampus.cmich.edu/orientation/cgi-bin/proctors1.asp

c (Online students) VISIT THE SYSTEM TEST PAGE AT  http://ddlcampus.cmich.edu/browsercheck/cgi-bin/systemcheck2.asp . Make sure your computer system meets all requirements before starting classes.

c (Online students-optional) VISIT THE PREVIEW BLACKBOARD COURSE AT  http://blackboard.cmich.edu. Enter ddlpreview in both the username and password fields, and select DDLPreview from the My Courses list. Experiment with the various course features (chatrooms, discussion boards, etc.) in a practice environment.

c OBTAIN GLOBAL ID and PASSWORD: Contact the CMU Information Technology Help Desk at 800-950-1144 x3662 or locally 989-774-3662. These are required to access both your CMICH Email Account and Blackboard course.

c ACCESS YOUR CMICH EMAIL ACCOUNT: The CMICH Student Email link is: http://student.csv.cmich.edu/  Check the account regularly for billing statements and other course correspondence from the University. Bills will not be sent via the US postal service, but sent only to your CMICH email account.

c ACCESS YOUR COURSE: The Blackboard start page is located at: http://blackboard.cmich.edu  Please note: If you login prior to the official start of the term, your specific course may not be available.

NOTE: Students who cease/fail to submit coursework or login, and who have not formally withdrawn from their course will receive a final grade of "E". For information on the withdrawal policy and procedure see:
